On Saturday 4th July 9 children attended the museum to complete their SS Great Britain project.
Past Finders celebrate the 50th anniversary of the SS Great Britain’s returning to Bristol.
The youth group have already experienced what it would have been like to have had a Victorian tea party on-board the SS Great Britain upstairs by the exhibition in the Dockyard Museum.
On Saturday the group learnt the history how the SS Great Britain ended up in the Falkland Islands and the salvage.
After making notes they created their own write ups. Some children got arty and some fantastic illustrations of the SS Great Britain were created.
Following on by making flags for a model of the ship kindly made by Brian Summers and a little help from Sheila Summers by making the sails.
All of the Past Finders work can be viewed in the Museum’s foyer and at this year’s Falklands Ball 2020.
