Another Amazing Win for the Past Finders youth group!!!
On Saturday morning ten members of the youth group rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into cultivating the garden at Cartmell Cottage. Unsure how the vegetables and flowers fared after lots on strong wind, rain and hail, surprisingly the group found plenty to enter into the Horticultural Show. Potatoes, cabbages, carrots, white turnip, broccoli, onions, mint, and flowers.
After all their hard work a sweet treat was well deserved. The children took home a bag of vegetables each grown and harvested by themselves.
On Sunday, the Horticultural Show was judged in the morning ready for doors opening at 2pm. What a fantastic surprise to learn that the group swept the floor in the children's vegetable category. Winning the Simon Summers Challenge Cup for the second year running, INCREDIBLE!!!
I am extremely proud of everyone's efforts; you are simply all awesome!!!
Thank you to Government House for donating some flower plants for the group to grow.
