Mount William

A Falklands Tradition: Wild Strawberry Picking on Mount William

Saturday 31st January

Despite the wet and soggy weather, 19 children and 5 adults set off for a fantastic walk up Mt William — and what a fun adventure it turned out to be!

We spent our time foraging for wild strawberries, learning about one of our Falkland Islands traditions, making new friends, and sharing plenty of laughs along the way. There were lots of wet feet (and a few brave souls without waterproofs!), but that didn’t dampen our spirits. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the search, making it a perfect mix of education, exercise, and good old fresh air.

A huge thank you to Donna, Jo, Laura and Sophie for volunteering to help out — your support was very much appreciated. And a big thank you to The Lodges for providing a delicious, packed lunch.

All smiles, despite the weather!
