Past Finders Garden Adventure – Rain, Laughs & Lots of Veg!
Saturday 8th November
A little rain didn’t stop us — in true Past Finders spirit, we powered through with big smiles and muddy boots!
We had an absolutely fantastic morning learning how to plant a garden from scratch. From a lively scavenger hunt to the delicious food kindly delivered by The Lodges, the day was bursting with fun. A huge shout-out to top chef Mauricio for keeping everyone full, and happy!
It was wonderful to see so many new faces and such a brilliant turnout. We loved spending the morning with you all, and next Tuesday we’ll be back to finish planting the garden — so stay tuned!
A massive thank you to our amazing volunteers for braving the rain and giving your time and energy: Juliet, Saphena, Donna, and young Jake, who joined us as part of his Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Tuesday 11th November – Planting Day Success!
What. A. Team!
Our very own Three Musketeers — Seryn, Kaysi, and James — plus the unstoppable Jake absolutely smashed it! Every plant went into the ground beautifully, and the garden is looking incredible. Hard work really does pay off — give yourselves a giant pat on the back. Superstars, the lot of you!
And a big thank you to Dani for your help — it was truly appreciated.
What We Planted
Our budding gardeners filled the beds with a feast of future goodies:
Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, brussel sprouts, potatoes, carrots, swede, parsnips, beetroot, lettuce, radish, onions, and even some beautiful flower plants to brighten everything up.
The garden is now officially bursting with potential!
Huge Thanks to Our Supporters
We couldn’t have done this without some wonderful community help:
The Lodges - thank you for your amazing food parcels.
Government House – thank you for the generous donations of plants and flowers.
Goose Green – thank you for providing fertiliser.
Michael – for helping unload deliveries.
Andrew – for rotovating like a champ.
Jonny – for your help with weeding and grass cutting.
You’re all absolutely fab — thank you for helping our garden grow!
Past Finders Spirit at Its Best
Rain or shine, this group proves that community, teamwork, and a little bit of mud make magic happen.
Here’s to more adventures, more growing, and more fun together!
