On Thursday 17th April, the museum was bursting with energy as 15 eager young explorers gathered for an unforgettable Easter hunt! Their mission? To uncover a whopping 178 hidden Easter eggs stashed all around the museum grounds.
The children were split into three teams and let loose in the outbuildings, where Sandra and Teena's legendary egg-hiding skills truly put them to the test. Some eggs were tucked away so cleverly that even a bit of grown-up help was needed to sniff them out! The younger kids got a well-deserved head start — and wow, they are fast!
After an intense search, the teams returned triumphantly, hands full and smiles wide, with only four elusive eggs managing to stay hidden until Monday — a little bonus challenge for our staff!
But the fun didn’t stop there...
Crafting Time!
The children then got creative with an Easter Bonnet workshop. Armed with inspiration and the promise of three special prizes, the kids poured their imaginations into crafting the most vibrant, eye-catching bonnets. Glitter, feathers, and smiles flew across the room as everyone dove into the fun.
As time flew by (we definitely ran over!), it was clear nobody wanted the crafting to end. Laughter and chatter filled the space until it was time for the big moment...
Enter the Judge!
Our amazing judge, Kimberley Alazia, had the toughest job of the day — choosing just three winners from a lineup of stunning bonnets. After careful consideration, she delivered the results:
1st Prize – Harry
2nd Prize – Harper
3rd Prize – Chaska
Bravo to all our talented crafters — your bonnets were truly fabulous!
A huge shoutout to Seafish Chandlery Ltd for generously donating the prizes — you're incredible! And of course, heartfelt thanks to our volunteers Tracy, Donna, and Mike — we couldn’t have done it without you!
Until next time, Happy Easter from all of us at the museum!
