Polar Seafish Limited

Discover what the Past Finders Youth Group got up to on Wednesday 18th June.

What an Unforgettable Day!

Wednesday 18th June was a day to remember for the Past Finders! The group was treated to an incredible behind-the-scenes experience at Polar Seafish Limited, gaining firsthand insight into the dynamic world of the fishing industry — and yes, we even met The King! (Not something you do every day!)

From the moment we arrived, we were met with a warm welcome from Mauricio, Sherilee, and Eva — the brilliant team behind the scenes who keep the coaches, minibuses, and iconic double-decker bus running smoothly. Their behind-the-scenes tour gave us a fascinating glimpse into the world of tourism transport.

A huge thank you to Pheobe, who guided us through the offices, introduced us to the team (including the legendary King!), and delivered an eye-opening presentation on the operations of Polar Seafish Limited. We learned about everything from vessels and net systems to the multicultural crew, sustainable fishing practices, and even the journey of the famous loligo squid.

The tour continued with David, who showed us around the yards and demonstrated how the nets work, how squid are processed, and the intricate logistics of cold-chain transport — all the way into 40-foot freezer containers! We even had a rare look at the impressive coach fleet before the day came to a close.

To cap off an already amazing visit, a generous £3,000 cheque was donated to Past Finders Youth for the upcoming season — an incredible gesture of support that means the world to us.

Thank you to everyone at Polar Seafish Limited for your generosity, hospitality, and inspiration. This unforgettable day has left a lasting impression, and your support will help us do even more great things with our young people.
